Over the past few months, we have been birthing an idea that is slowly taking on life. In the interest of connecting with new people in the community, and offering a service that they might be interested in, we are planning to launch an internet cafe, called The NetWork.
It will consist of a six-station network were individuals can check e-mail, search the web, or write a letter back home. Through generous donations, technical assistance, and a little bit of scrounging, we are very close to having everything we need. We hope to offer coffee, tea, and possibly some refreshments on a weekly basis.
As it has begun to take shape, the congregation has begun adding to the dream - resume workshops, training about plane ticket purchases, simple word processing training, and even tax preparation workshops.
We are excited to find out where else God might lead us in this venture. |
